CAPARA AND LUNETTES KOLLEKTION BAND TOGETHER FOR NEW COLLABORATION THAT DECONSTRUCTS EYEWEAR AS WE KNOW IT
Berlin’s forward-looking eyewear specialists Lunettes Kollektion and Antwerp, Belgium-based fashion innovators Capara have joined forces to create a sunglasses collection, the likes of which have never been seen. This is eyewear reduced to its essentials, and elevated to artform.
Their collaboration with Lunettes Kollektion stretches the very limits of eyewear expression. High tech meets handmade: for the first time, Lunettes Kollektion utilizes 3-D printing to create a frame. At the same time, artisanal handwork finishes the sunglasses with a special twist. The minimalist design is deconstructionist in concept: reduced to a frame and lenses – then connected in a completely new way, without screws or rims.
Lunettes Kollektion and Julian Zigerli join together to bring you the look of loveBerlin-based eyewear specialists Lunettes Kollektion and rising Swiss menswear designer Julian Zigerli have forces to create a distinctive debut – a limited-edition sunglasses accessory that offers instant transformation. The five-piece collection blends Zigerli’s fashion- forward zaniness harmoniously with Lunettes’ classic inspirations from the annals of style.
These eyewear clip-ons deliver a universal embrace for all frames – in Julian Zigerli’s words, “functional, practical, and full of humor.” Over-sized mirrored heart-shaped lenses in vivid tones of pink, red, gold, light blue and blue express the look of love in a whole new way. The frame-less form lets you open your heart when you open your eyes. Taking a cue from cartoons, these clip-ons come out swinging – chic and cheeky. JULIAN ZIGERLI FOR LUNETTES KOLLEKTION SUNGLASS CLIPS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SELECTED SHOPS WORLDWIDE AND LUNETTES KOLLEKTION IN-STORE. RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICE 198€
Michael van der Ham x Lunettes Kollektion mix it up with London Fashion Week eyewear collaboration
The 1940’s-inspired round frames created exclusively for van der Ham consist of layered opaque and translucent acetate with stripe and scallop decorative forms. “The mixing of textiles and mixing of cuts is always very important to me with clothes, and so I did the same with the glasses,” said Michael van der Ham. The thickness of the layered materials adds depth and texture, while playful colors lighten the mood.
The “Block and Scallop” collection consists of two models, each in two colorways with graphic details. Navy, ivory, and pale blue, and ivory and silver frames pair with silver mirrored lenses. Ivory and burnt orange get the gloss of orange mirrored lenses; royal blue and navy glasses finish with blue mirrored lenses.
The sunglasses represent Lunettes Kollektion’s signature hybrid of vintage and contemporary design, and perfectly compliment the collaged feminine looks of the Dutch-born, London-based van der Ham’s designer’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection. “I have always loved Lunettes Kollektion glasses,” said van der Ham. “I love their use of color, and the high level of quality.”
Lunettes Kollektion and Christopher Shannon collaborate to envision color fields of playBerlin top eyewear label Lunettes Kollektion and rising British designer Christopher Shannon have teamed up on a vibrant collection of sunglasses debuting during London Collections: Men. The wide double-bridge frames were created exclusively for Shannon, and are multicolor-sprayed for a slightly DIY vibe that pairs with the raw yet refined collaged feel of the designer’s Spring/Summer 15 menswear collection. Large shiny, mirrored lenses in vivid tones of pink, orange, yellow, green, and blue give good reason and room to hide your eyes without going unseen – statement glasses for mixed messages. Liverpool-born, London-based Shannon is known for his uncompromising reinvented sportswear that pulls from the past but is ever moving forward – making him an apt match for an experiment with Lunettes Kollektion’s evocative eyewear styles. Shannon describes the resulting collaboration sunglasses as “somewhere between a sports style and something more party” – in tune and on tone with his latest looks. CHRISTOPHER SHANNON FOR LUNETTES KOLLEKTION GLASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SELECTED SHOPS WORLDWIDE, AND LUNETTES KOLLEKTION IN-STORE AND ONLINE, PRICED AT 309 €.
DUO DOUBLE-TAKE James Long x Lunettes Kollektion
reconnect for second sunglasses collaboration
Innovative Berlin eyewear label Lunettes Kollektion and rising British designer James Long hit the London catwalk for the second time running with their new collaboration for Spring/Summer 2015.
Debuted during London Collections: Men, the latest James Long and Lunettes Kollektion sunglasses stripe the light fantastic in a stone cold fusion that reflects the soul of Long’s new men’s looks. “It’s a fusion of sport and hippy, so it comes from two contradictory inspirations,” said James Long of the collection.
Lunettes Kollektion’s compelling yet casual Bon Vivant frame, with its distinctive double bridge, is given an off-the-grid treatment, transformed into six new styles. Frames in incense get glitter-dipped temples to add a wholly unexpected dash of flash. Graphic-etched lenses in primary colors go way beyond basic. Glitter-dipped frames in red, silver, and blue with matching mirrored lenses change up the look for a karma chameleon.
The hi-tech yet easy shades make a match point with the global sport hippie style debuted in Long’s S/S 15 show, meant to evoke a Thai boxing star gone Ibiza. Hybrid sandals, double-faced jersey, and neon add interest, while raw edges provide a rough contrast to sportier elements.
“We love the product and creation,” said James Long of collaboration with Lunettes Kollektion. “I think they are the most exciting glasses brand at the moment – they work really well with my brand’s aesthetic.”
James Long for Lunettes Kollektion glasses will be available in selected shops worldwide, and Lunettes Kollektion in-store and online, priced at request.
ODEEH x Lunettes Kollektion
Teamed up to map new geometries
Top eyewear company Lunettes Kollektion and chic fashion label ODEEH have collaborated on a new sunglasses collection that goes beyond square one.
The New Round by Lunettes Kollektion x ODEEH sunglasses are sophisticated with a touch of whimsy, round yet angular, at the same time gamine and grown-up. “We wanted to create glasses that were beyond the expected dimensions – they had to be larger, more spirited, and a touch humorous. Lunettes Kollektion proved to be the perfect partner,“ said Jörg Ehrlich and Otto Drögsler of ODEEH.
With a shared love of fusing retro influences and modern sensibilities, Lunettes Kollektion and ODEEH make for a perfect pair. Both German brands also value handcrafted artisanal quality, and produce in Europe.
ODEEH’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection provides the color story for the fresh-faced collaboration, with five frame shades on offer: Nude, Black, Marble, Dusk, Honey.
Each pair of The New Round sunglasses comes fashionably clad in a cleaning cloth printed with a signature ODEEH graphic pattern, and features the fashion brand’s logo subtly printed on the outer temple.
James Long x Lunettes Kollektion
Lunettes Kollektion & James Long race to the top with new collaboration
Top Berlin eyewear label Lunettes Kollektion and rising British designer James Long have teamed up to get around, starting with the London catwalk. Debuted during London Collections: Men, James Long for Lunettes Kollektion sunglasses merge the gloss of the race with the thrill of the chase.
At the starting line is Lunettes Kollektion’s dandified Flâneur frame, now color-coded to win with the edition of specially engraved racing stripes across the front in white, red, green and blue tones. Seven styles kick off with frame colors in toffee and incense – some pairing contrasting fronts and temples for a jaunty effect. Available in three lens colors – gold mirror, silver mirror, and dark green – for every vision quest.
Louise Gray x Lunettes Kollektion
Lunettes Kollektion & Louise Gray do a double-take for the London catwalk
Top Berlin eyewear brand Lunettes Kollektion and scottish designer Louise Gray have teamed up for an eye-catching collaboration – just in time for london Fashion Week – that’s really saying something.
Known for their understated cool but chic frames, this time Lunettes Kollektion sends a missive Louise Gray style, adding customized comments and charming details to glasses and sunglasses, using a special laser engraving technique. Michael Caine meets Jenny Holzer – the medium cool becomes the message, as basic black talks back.
Lunettes Kollektion’s award-winning chunky black Artsy Fartsy style gets a flirty set of lashed eyes etched on clear lenses – here’s winking at you, kid! And the line’s Italian-influenced enzo sunglasses are engraved with chatty call-outs FAB ULOUS and HEY CRAZY. These attention-demanding shades are a perfect companion to Gray’s quirky color-drenched designs. The Louise Gray logo appears on the outer temple; lunettes Kollektion’s is inside; the special specs also come with a louise Gray HEY CRAZY glasses wipe to keep everything crystal clear.
The collaboration is a perfect union of chic and freak. "Rather than making statement glasses and sun glasses, we made statements on them," explains Louise Gray. “Keeping the frames black makes them accessible, and easy to put them with anything.” added Lunettes Kollektion’s Uta Geyer, "I was immediately taken with Louise’s eccentric, colorful, poppy look, and really wanted to work with her."
